What to Expect

Visiting a new care facility for the first time can feel overwhelming, but we’re here to make the experience as smooth as possible. To help you feel prepared and at ease, we’ve outlined what you can expect when you arrive. Take a moment to review the information below and familiarize yourself with our care process and what your first visit will entail.

What Sould I Bring?

Tips for Your Appointment

  • Wear loose-fitting athletic clothing so that the therapist can easily access the injury, wound, or incision site.
  • Plan to be at the evaluation and treatment session for approximately 1 hour (this will vary depending on the case)
  • If you have had imaging (MRI), please bring a copy of the disc or impression if possible.

Cancellation Policy

We work off of a schedule that helps our staff appropriately to give the best care possible; therefore, please be understanding with cancellations and no-shows. We ask, if possible, to provide 24-hour notice of ANY cancellation/rescheduling of an appointment. If you do not cancel 24 hours in advance or make a habit of not showing up to your scheduled appointments, a $25 no-show fee will be added to your balance, and no appointments will be scheduled until the fee is paid. If you are 15 minutes or more past your scheduled appointment time, you will be rescheduled to keep our patient-care-to-licensed therapist ratio adequate for providing all our patients with the best care.

Post Op Expectation

Day one will be heavy on education about post-op precautions. If possible, have a family member with you during this time.

We will address any dressing changes that need to be made. Please bring any extra dressings the hospital or surgery center gave you (if any).

DO NOT take your pain meds before coming to your appointment, as we need you to be alert and oriented.

At your initial visit, you will be given a home exercise program. The expectation is that you perform these exercises independently at least two times per day.

If you have any additional questions, feel free to give us a call! We’d be happy to answer them or address any concerns.
